HMS Inconstant was a I-class destroyer, operated by the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number H49. Vickers-Armstrongs laid her keel on 24 May 1939. Launched on 24 February 1941, she entered service on 24 January 1942.

Her class ran to eleven ships. The class followed the G and H-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Tribal-class destroyer (1936).

She displaced 1,360 long tons standard and 1,880 long tons at full load. She measured 98.5 m (323 ft) long with a beam of 10.1 m (33 ft). Her designed speed was 35.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 145.

Her main battery was four 119 mm (4.7 in) guns. 34,000 shp drove two shafts.

She served with the Royal Navy as Inconstant until 1946. She then passed to the Turkish Navy, serving as Muavenet from 9 March 1946. She was in commission for 1,317 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in 1946.

She was broken up for scrap in 1960.
