Shōhō was a Zuihō-class aircraft carrier built for the Imperial Japanese Navy. The ship was named after Japanese: 祥鳳. Yokosuka Naval Arsenal laid her keel on 3 December 1934. Launched on 1 June 1935, she entered service on 30 November 1941.
Two ships of the class were built.
She displaced 11,262 long tons. She measured 205.4 m (674 ft) long with a beam of 18.0 m (59 ft). Her designed speed was 28 knots, and she carried a complement of 785.
Her main battery was eight 127 mm (5 in) guns in four twin mountings. She carried 30 aircraft. Her machinery developed 52,000 shp.
She was in commission for 160 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 7 May 1942 by aircraft, at 16°07′S 151°55′E. The wreck survives.
