I-11 was a Type A1 submarine of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Kawasaki, Kobe, Japan laid her keel on 10 April 1939. Launched on 28 February 1941, she entered service on 16 May 1942.

The class followed the Type J3 submarine and was succeeded by the Type A2 submarine.

The boat displaced 2,919 long tons surfaced and 4,129 long tons submerged. She measured 113.7 m (373 ft) long with a beam of 9.5 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 23.5 knots.

Her main battery was one 140 mm (5.5 in) guns. She carried one aircraft. Her machinery developed 12,400 bhp.
