I-176 was a submarine of the Kaidai type, KD7-class of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her keel was laid at Kure Naval Arsenal on 22 June 1940. Launched on 7 June 1941, she entered service on 4 August 1942.
The boat displaced 1,630 long tons surfaced and 2,602 long tons submerged. She measured 105.5 m (346 ft) long with a beam of 8.2 m (27 ft). Her designed speed was 23.1 knots, and she carried a complement of 86.
Her main battery was one 120 mm (4.7 in) guns.
She was in commission for 651 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 16 May 1944, at 13°31′S 163°17′E. The wreck survives.
