German auxiliary cruiser Komet was a auxiliary cruiser in service with the Kriegsmarine. She was named for Comet. She was built by Deschimag A.G. Weser. Launched on 16 January 1937, she entered service on 2 June 1940.
She displaced 7,500 long tons. She measured 115.5 m (379 ft) long with a beam of 15.3 m (50 ft). Her designed speed was 16 knots, and she carried a complement of 274.
Her main battery was six 150 mm (5.9 in) guns. She carried two aircraft.
She served with the Kriegsmarine as Komet until 1939. She then passed to the Kriegsmarine, serving as Komet from 2 June 1940. She was in commission for 982 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 14 October 1942 by torpedo, at 49°44′N 1°32′W. The wreck survives.
