U-1062 was a Type VIIF submarine, operated by the Kriegsmarine. Her keel was laid at Germaniawerft, Kiel on 12 August 1942. Launched on 8 May 1943, she entered service on 19 June 1943.
She was one of 21 ships of her class. The class followed the Type UB III, Vetehinen class and was succeeded by the Type XXI (Late-war replacement).
The boat displaced 1,067 long tons surfaced and 1,162 long tons submerged. She measured 77.6 m (255 ft) long with a beam of 7.3 m (24 ft). Her designed speed was 17.6 knots.
