U-2521 was a Type XXI submarine built for the Kriegsmarine. Her keel was laid at Blohm & Voss, Hamburg on 31 August 1944. Launched on 18 October 1944, she entered service on 21 November 1944.
She was one of 118 ships of her class. The class followed the Type VII and was succeeded by the Type XXVI.
The boat displaced 1,595 long tons surfaced and 1,790 long tons submerged. She measured 76.7 m (252 ft) long with a beam of 8 m (26 ft). Her designed speed was 17.9 knots, and she carried a complement of 57.
Her main battery was four 37 mm (1.5 in) guns.
