Tourville was a light cruiser of the Duquesne-class cruiser built for the Marine Nationale. She carried the pennant number 1926. She was named for Anne Hilarion de Tourville. Arsenal de Lorient laid her keel on 4 March 1925. She entered service on 5 May 1928, having been launched on 24 August 1926.
Two ships of the class were built. The Suffren-class cruiser followed.
Displacement was 10,000 long tons standard and 12,239 long tons at full load. She measured 191 m (627 ft) long with a beam of 19 m (62 ft). Her designed speed was 34 knots, and she carried a complement of 605.
Her main battery was eight 203 mm (8.0 in) guns. She carried two aircraft.
She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War.
