German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran was a auxiliary cruiser built for the Kriegsmarine. She carried the pennant number HSK-8. She was named for Styria. She was built by Friedrich Krupp Germaniawerft, Kiel, Germany. Launched on 15 September 1938, she entered service on 9 October 1940.

Displacement was 19,586 long tons. She measured 164 m (538 ft) long with a beam of 20.2 m (66 ft). Her designed speed was 18 knots, and she carried a complement of 400.

Her main battery was six 150 mm (5.9 in) guns. She carried two aircraft.
