U-133 was a Type VIIC submarine, operated by the Kriegsmarine. She carried the pennant number 1941. Vegesacker Werft GmbH, Bremen-Vegesack laid her keel on 21 August 1940. Launched on 28 April 1941, she entered service on 5 July 1941.
612 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Type UB III, Vetehinen class and was succeeded by the Type XXI (Late-war replacement).
