U-3514 was a Type XXI submarine, operated by the Kriegsmarine. F Schichau GmbH, Danzig laid her keel on 21 August 1944. Launched on 21 October 1944, she entered service on 9 December 1944.
She was one of 118 ships of her class. The class followed the Type VII and was succeeded by the Type XXVI.
The boat displaced 1,595 long tons surfaced and 1,790 long tons submerged. She measured 76.7 m (252 ft) long with a beam of 8 m (26 ft). Her designed speed was 17.9 knots, and she carried a complement of 57.
