HMAS Perth was a Modified Leander-class light cruiser of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number D29. The ship was named after Amphion. Her keel was laid at HM Dockyard, Portsmouth on 26 June 1933. She entered service on 15 June 1936, having been launched on 27 July 1934.
She displaced 7,040 long tons. She measured 171.3 m (562 ft) long with a beam of 17.1 m (56 ft). Her designed speed was 32.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 622. Her main battery was of 152 mm (6.0 in) calibre.
Her machinery developed 72,000 shp through four shafts.
She served with the Royal Navy as Amphion until June 1939. She then passed to the Royal Australian Navy, serving as Perth from 29 June 1939. She was in commission for 912 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 1 March 1942, at 5°52′S 106°08′E. The wreck survives.
