HMAS Quadrant was a Q-class destroyer built for the Royal Navy. She was named for The navigational instrument. Her keel was laid at R. and W. Hawthorn, Leslie and Company Limited on 24 September 1940. Launched on 28 February 1942, she entered service on 26 November 1942.
She was one of seven ships of her class. The class followed the O and P-class destroyer and was succeeded by the S and T-class destroyer.
Displacement was 1,750 long tons standard and 2,388 long tons at full load. She measured 109.1 m (358 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 31.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 220.
Her main battery was six 20 mm (0.8 in) guns.
She served with the Royal Navy until 1945. She then passed to the Royal Australian Navy from 18 October 1945. She was in commission for 1,011 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in 1945. She recommissioned on 16 July 1953.
She was broken up for scrap.
