Lampo was a Folgore-class destroyer in service with the Regia Marina. She carried the pennant number 1931. The ship was named after Lightning. Officine & Cantieri Partenopei, Naples laid her keel on 30 January 1930. She was launched on 26 July 1931.
She was one of four ships of her class. The class followed the Freccia-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Maestrale-class destroyer.
She displaced 1,218 long tons standard and 2,057 long tons at full load. She measured 96.0 m (315 ft) long with a beam of 9.2 m (30 ft). Her designed speed was 30 knots, and she carried a complement of 185.
Her main battery was four 120 mm (4.7 in) guns in two twin mountings. Her machinery developed 44,000 hp through two shafts.
