Brin was a Brin-class submarine built for the Regia Marina. Tosi (Taranto, Italy) laid her keel on 3 December 1936. She entered service on 18 April 1939, having been launched on 3 April 1938.
She was one of three ships of her class. The class followed the Archimede-class submarine and was succeeded by the Liuzzi-class submarine.
She displaced 1,016 long tons standard and 1,266 long tons at full load. She measured 72.5 m (238 ft) long with a beam of 6.7 m (22 ft). Her designed speed was 17 knots, and she carried a complement of 58.
Her main battery was one 100 mm (3.9 in) guns.
She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War. She was struck from the register on 1 February 1948.
She was broken up for scrap in 1948.
