Yūbari was a light cruiser in service with the Imperial Japanese Navy. The ship was named after Yūbari River. Her keel was laid at Sasebo Naval Arsenal on 5 June 1922. She entered service on 23 July 1923, having been launched on 5 March 1923.
Displacement was 3,560 long tons. She measured 139.4 m (458 ft) long with a beam of 12.0 m (40 ft). Her designed speed was 34.8 knots, and she carried a complement of 328.
Her main battery was two 140 mm (5.5 in) guns. Her belt armour was 38 mm (1.5 in) and her deck 25 mm. Her machinery developed 57,900 shp.
She was in commission for 1,701 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 28 April 1944 by torpedo, at 5°20′N 132°16′E. The wreck survives.
