I-14 was a Type A Mod.2 submarine. Her keel was laid at Kawasaki, Kobe, Japan on 18 May 1943. Launched on 14 March 1944, she entered service on 14 March 1945.
The class followed the Type A2 submarine.
The boat displaced 3,603 long tons surfaced and 4,762 long tons submerged. She measured 113.7 m (373 ft) long with a beam of 11.7 m (38 ft). Her designed speed was 16.8 knots.
Her main battery was one 140 mm (5.5 in) guns. She carried two aircraft.
She was in commission for 166 days of the Second World War.
She was expended as a target on 27 August 1945. The wreck survives.
