Yu 1 was a submarine in service with the Imperial Japanese Navy. Hitachi Kasado Works, Kudamatsu, Japan laid her keel on 23 June 1943. She was launched on 29 October 1943.

The boat displaced 274 long tons surfaced and 346 long tons submerged. She measured 41.4 m (136 ft) long with a beam of 3.9 m (13 ft). Her designed speed was 10 knots, and she carried a complement of 23. Her main battery was of 37 mm (1.5 in) calibre.

She was in commission for 371 days of the Second World War.

She was sunk on 2 January 1945. The wreck survives.
