HMS Dauntless was a Danae-class cruiser light cruiser of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number D45. Palmers Shipbuilding and Iron Company, Jarrow laid her keel on 3 January 1917. Launched on 10 April 1918, she entered service on 22 November 1918.
She was one of nine ships of her class. The class followed the C-class cruiser and was succeeded by the Emerald-class cruiser.
Displacement was 4,650 long tons. She measured 143.6 m (471 ft) long with a beam of 14.0 m (46 ft). Her designed speed was 29 knots, and she carried a complement of 350. Her main battery was of 152 mm (6.0 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War.
She was broken up for scrap in April 1946.
