HMS Jamaica was a Fiji-class cruiser light cruiser, operated by the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number 44. The ship was named after Crown Colony of Jamaica and Dependencies. Vickers-Armstrongs, Barrow-in-Furness laid her keel on 28 April 1939. She entered service on 29 June 1942, having been launched on 16 November 1940.
Displacement was 8,631 long tons. She measured 169.2 m (555 ft) long with a beam of 18.9 m (62 ft). Her designed speed was 32.2 knots, and she carried a complement of 733.
Her main battery was twelve 152 mm (6 in) guns in four triple mountings. She carried two aircraft. 80,000 shp drove four shafts.
She was in commission for 1,162 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 20 November 1957. She was struck from the register in 1960.
She was broken up for scrap on 14 November 1960.
