HMS Manchester was a Town-class cruiser (1936) light cruiser built for the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number 15. Her keel was laid at Hawthorn Leslie, Hebburn on 28 March 1936. Launched on 12 April 1937, she entered service on 4 August 1938.

She displaced 9,400 long tons standard and 11,650 long tons at full load. She measured 180.1 m (591 ft) long with a beam of 18.9 m (62 ft). Her designed speed was 32 knots, and she carried a complement of 800.

Her main battery was twelve 152 mm (6 in) guns in four triple mountings. She carried two aircraft. Her machinery developed 82,500 shp.

She was in commission for 1,077 days of the Second World War.

She was scuttled on 13 August 1942, at 36°50′N 11°10′E. The wreck survives.
