Ōnami was a Yūgumo-class destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She carried the pennant number 1942. Her keel was laid at Fujinagata Shipbuilding Yard on 15 November 1941. Launched on 31 August 1942, she entered service on 20 January 1943.
Her class ran to 19 ships. The class followed the Kagerō-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Akizuki-class destroyer (1942).
She displaced 2,077 long tons. She measured 119.2 m (391 ft) long with a beam of 10.8 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 35 knots, and she carried a complement of 228.
Her main battery was six 127 mm (5 in) guns.
She was in commission for 386 days of the Second World War. She was struck from the register on 10 February 1944.
She was sunk on 25 November 1943, at 5°15′S 153°49′E. The wreck survives.
