Arromanches was a Colossus-class aircraft carrier in service with the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number R95. The ship was named after Colossus. She was built by Vickers-Armstrongs, High Walker. She entered service on 16 December 1944, having been launched on 30 September 1943.
Seven ships of the class were built. The Centaur-class aircraft carrier followed.
She displaced 591 long tons. She measured 212 m (696 ft) long with a beam of 24.4 m (80 ft). Her designed speed was 25 knots, and she carried a complement of 1,300.
She carried 48 aircraft.
She served with the Royal Navy as Colossus until 1946. She then passed to the Marine Nationale, serving as Arromanches from 1946. She was in commission for 260 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in 1974.
She was broken up for scrap in 1978.
