U-155 was a Type IXC submarine in service with the Kriegsmarine. She carried the pennant number 1941. DeSchiMAG AG Weser, Bremen laid her keel on 1 October 1940. She entered service on 23 August 1941, having been launched on 12 May 1941.

Her class ran to 142 ships. The class followed the Type I and was succeeded by the Type XXI.

The boat displaced 1,102 long tons surfaced and 1,213 long tons submerged. She measured 76.8 m (252 ft) long with a beam of 6.8 m (22 ft). Her designed speed was 18.3 knots, and she carried a complement of 48.
