U-876 was a Type IXD2 submarine of the Kriegsmarine. DeSchiMAG AG Weser, Bremen laid her keel on 5 June 1943. She entered service on 24 May 1944, having been launched on 29 February 1944.

33 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Type I and was succeeded by the Type XXI.
