HMCS Skeena was a A-class destroyer built for the Royal Canadian Navy. She carried the pennant number D59. She was named for Skeena River. John I. Thornycroft & Company, Woolston laid her keel on 14 October 1929. Launched on 10 October 1930, she entered service on 10 June 1931.
She was one of eleven ships of her class. The class followed the HMS Ambuscade (D38) and HMS Amazon (D39) and was succeeded by the C and D-class destroyer.
Displacement was 1,337 long tons. She measured 97.8 m (321 ft) long with a beam of 9.8 m (32 ft). Her designed speed was 31 knots, and she carried a complement of 181. Her main battery was of 120 mm (4.7 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 1,881 days of the Second World War.
She was wrecked on 25 October 1944 by weather, at 49°59′N 36°36′W.
