HMS Brocklesby was a Type I Hunt-class destroyer built for the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number L42. Her keel was laid at Cammell Laird, Birkenhead on 18 November 1939. Launched on 30 September 1940, she entered service on 9 April 1941.

Displacement was 1,000 long tons standard and 1,360 long tons at full load. She measured 80.5 m (264 ft) long with a beam of 8.8 m (29 ft). Her designed speed was 27.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 146. Her main battery was of 102 mm (4.0 in) calibre.

She was in commission for 1,607 days of the Second World War.

She was broken up for scrap in 1968.
