HMS Meteor was a M-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number G73. Alexander Stephen and Sons, Linthouse, Scotland laid her keel on 14 September 1940. She was launched on 3 November 1941.
Seven ships of the class were built. The class followed the None and was succeeded by the Quebec-class submarine.
She displaced 1,920 long tons standard and 2,725 long tons at full load. She measured 110.3 m (362 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 190.
Her main battery was six 119 mm (4.7 in) guns in three twin mountings. Her machinery developed 48,000 shp.
She served with the Royal Navy as HMS Meteor until 29 June 1959. She then passed to the Turkish Navy, serving as Piyale Paşa from 29 June 1959. She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War.
