HMS Vanessa was a Admiralty V-class destroyer, operated by the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number D29. William Beardmore and Company, Dalmuir laid her keel on 10 May 1917. She entered service in 1918, having been launched on 16 March 1918.
Displacement was 1,339 long tons. She measured 91.4 m (300 ft) long with a beam of 7.9 m (26 ft). Her designed speed was 34 knots, and she carried a complement of 110. Her main battery was of 102 mm (4.0 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in December 1921. She recommissioned in 1939.
She was broken up for scrap on 4 March 1947.
