Giovanni da Verrazzano was a Navigatori-class destroyer in service with the Regia Marina. The ship was named after Giovanni da Verazzano. Her keel was laid at Cantieri navali del Quarnaro, Fiume on 17 August 1927. She was launched on 15 December 1928.
She was one of twelve ships of her class. The class followed the Turbine-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Freccia-class destroyer.
Displacement was 1,900 long tons standard and 2,580 long tons at full load. She measured 107.3 m (352 ft) long with a beam of 10.2 m (33 ft). Her designed speed was 32 knots, and she carried a complement of 222.
Her main battery was six 120 mm (4.7 in) guns in three twin mountings. Her machinery developed 55,000 hp through two shafts.
She was in commission for 1,144 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 19 October 1942 by torpedo. The wreck survives.
