Des Geneys was a Pisani-class submarine. Cantiere Navale Triestino, Trieste laid her keel on 1 February 1926. She was launched on 14 November 1928.

Her class ran to four ships. The class followed the Mameli-class submarine and was succeeded by the Bandiera-class submarine.

The boat displaced 866 long tons surfaced and 1,040 long tons submerged. She measured 68.2 m (224 ft) long with a beam of 6.1 m (20 ft). Her designed speed was 15 knots, and she carried a complement of 48.

Her main battery was one 102 mm (4.0 in) guns. Her machinery developed 3,000 bhp through two shafts.

She was decommissioned on 16 April 1942.

She was broken up for scrap.
