Yakaze was a Minekaze-class destroyer, operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy. Mitsubishi, Nagasaki laid her keel on 24 January 1918. She entered service on 19 July 1920, having been launched on 10 April 1920.

Twelve ships of the class were built. The class followed the Momi-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Wakatake-class destroyer.

She displaced 1,344 long tons standard and 1,650 long tons at full load. She measured 102.5 m (336 ft) long with a beam of 9.0 m (30 ft). Her designed speed was 39 knots, and she carried a complement of 148.

Her main battery was four 120 mm (4.7 in) guns. Her machinery developed 38,500 shp through two shafts.

She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War.

She was broken up for scrap in 1948.
