I-121 was a I-121-class submarine. Kawasaki Corporation, Kobe, Japan laid her keel on 20 October 1924. She entered service on 31 March 1927, having been launched on 30 March 1926.
Her class ran to five ships.
The boat displaced 1,142 long tons surfaced and 1,768 long tons submerged. She measured 85.2 m (280 ft) long with a beam of 7.5 m (25 ft). Her designed speed was 14.9 knots, and she carried a complement of 80.
Her main battery was one 140 mm (5.5 in) guns.
She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 15 March 1933. She recommissioned on 15 November 1933. She was struck from the register on 30 November 1945.
She was scuttled in September 1945, at 0°40′N 115°00′E. The wreck survives.
