I-201 was a I-201-class submarine in service with the Imperial Japanese Navy. Her keel was laid at Kure Naval Arsenal, Kure, Japan on 1 March 1944. She entered service on 2 February 1945, having been launched on 22 July 1944.
She was one of three ships of her class. The class followed the I-400-class submarine.
The boat displaced 1,291 long tons surfaced and 1,450 long tons submerged. She measured 79 m (259 ft) long with a beam of 5.8 m (19 ft). Her designed speed was 15.8 knots, and she carried a complement of 31. Her main battery was of 25 mm (1.0 in) calibre.
Her machinery developed 2,750 bhp.
She was in commission for 212 days of the Second World War.
She was expended as a target on 2 September 1945. The wreck survives.
