Kalinin was a Kirov-class cruiser of the Soviet Navy. The ship was named after Mikhail Kalinin. Shipyard 199, Komsomolsk-on-Amur laid her keel on 12 August 1938. She was launched on 8 May 1942.

Her class ran to six ships. The class followed the Admiral Nakhimov-class cruiser and was succeeded by the Chapayev-class cruiser.

Displacement was 8,267 long tons standard and 9,881 long tons at full load. She measured 191.2 m (627 ft) long with a beam of 17.7 m (58 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 812.

Her main battery was nine 180 mm (7.1 in) guns in three triple mountings. Her belt armour was 70 mm (2.8 in) and her deck 50 mm. 126,900 shp drove two shafts.

She was struck from the register on 12 April 1963.

She was transferred on 10 August 1963.
