USS Anderson was a Sims-class destroyer in service with the United States Navy. Her keel was laid at Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Company on 15 November 1937. Launched on 4 February 1939, she entered service on 19 May 1939.
Twelve ships of the class were built. The class followed the Benham-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Benson-class destroyer.
She displaced 1,575 long tons. She measured 106.1 m (348 ft) long with a beam of 11.0 m (36 ft). Her designed speed was 35 knots, and she carried a complement of 192. Her main battery was of 127 mm (5 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 2,193 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 28 August 1946. She was struck from the register on 25 September 1946.
She was expended as a target on 1 July 1946. The wreck survives.
