USS La Prade was a John C. Butler-class destroyer escort built for the United States Navy. She was named for Robert M. La Prade. Her keel was laid at Brown Shipbuilding, Houston, Texas on 18 November 1943. She entered service on 20 April 1944, having been launched on 31 December 1943.

She was one of 81 ships of her class. The class followed the Rudderow-class destroyer escort and was succeeded by the Dealey-class destroyer escort.

Displacement was 1,350 long tons. She measured 93.3 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 11.0 m (36 ft). Her designed speed was 24 knots, and she carried a complement of 215.

Her main battery was two 127 mm (5 in) guns.

She was in commission for 500 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 11 May 1946. She was struck from the register on 15 January 1972.

She was broken up for scrap on 15 January 1973.
