USS Hugh Purvis was a Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer built for the United States Navy. The ship was named after Hugh Purvis. Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company laid her keel on 23 May 1944. Launched on 17 December 1944, she entered service on 1 March 1945.

She was one of 54 ships of her class. The class followed the Fletcher-class destroyer and was succeeded by the Gearing-class destroyer.

Displacement was 2,200 long tons. She measured 114.6 m (376 ft) long with a beam of 12.2 m (40 ft). Her designed speed was 34 knots, and she carried a complement of 336.

Her main battery was six 127 mm (5 in) guns.

She served with the United States Navy as Hugh Purvis until 15 June 1972. She then passed to the Turkish Navy, serving as Zafer from 1 July 1972. She was in commission for 185 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 15 June 1972. She was struck from the register on 1 February 1973.

She was broken up for scrap in 1994.
