USS Osmus was a Buckley-class destroyer escort of the United States Navy. Defoe Shipbuilding Company, Bay City, Michigan laid her keel on 17 August 1943. She entered service on 23 February 1944, having been launched on 4 November 1943.

Her class ran to 98 ships. The class followed the Evarts-class destroyer escort and was succeeded by the Cannon-class destroyer escort.

Displacement was 1,400 long tons standard and 1,740 long tons at full load. She measured 93.3 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 11.3 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 23 knots, and she carried a complement of 213. Her main battery was of 76 mm (3.0 in) calibre.

She was in commission for 557 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 15 March 1947.

She was broken up for scrap in 1973.
