Nautilus was a Saphir-class submarine in service with the Marine Nationale. She carried the pennant number 1930. She was named for Nautilus. Her keel was laid at Arsenal de Toulon on 8 August 1927. She entered service on 15 July 1931, having been launched on 20 March 1930.

Her class ran to six ships.

The boat displaced 761 long tons surfaced and 925 long tons submerged. She measured 66 m (217 ft) long with a beam of 7.1 m (23 ft). Her designed speed was 12 knots, and she carried a complement of 42.

Her main battery was one 75 mm (3.0 in) guns.
