HMS Jed was a River-class frigate built for the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number 1942. The ship was named after Jed River. Her keel was laid at Charles Hill & Sons & Belliss & Morcom on 27 September 1941. She entered service on 30 November 1942, having been launched on 30 July 1942.
Her class ran to 15 ships. The Loch-class frigate followed.
She displaced 1,370 long tons standard and 1,830 long tons at full load. She measured 86.3 m (283 ft) long with a beam of 11.1 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 20 knots, and she carried a complement of 107. Her main battery was of 102 mm (4.0 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 1,009 days of the Second World War.
She was broken up for scrap on 25 May 1957.
