HMS Kingston was a K-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number F64. Her keel was laid at J. Samuel White and Company, Cowes, Isle of Wight on 6 October 1937. Launched on 9 January 1939, she entered service on 14 September 1939.
She was one of 15 ships of her class. The class followed the Soviet S-class submarine and was succeeded by the Zulu-class submarine.
Displacement was 1,690 long tons. She measured 108.5 m (356 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 183.
Her main battery was six 119 mm (4.7 in) guns in three twin mountings. Her machinery developed 44,000 shp.
