HMS P551 was a S-class submarine built for the Polish Navy. The ship was named after Hawk. Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, Massachusetts laid her keel on 26 October 1918. She entered service on 4 November 1941, having been launched on 29 May 1922.
111 ships of the class were built.
The boat displaced 854 long tons surfaced and 1,062 long tons submerged. She measured 66.8 m (219 ft) long with a beam of 6.1 m (20 ft). Her designed speed was 14.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 42.
Her main battery was one 102 mm (4 in) guns.
She was in commission for 179 days of the Second World War.
She was sunk on 2 May 1942 by accident, at 71°30′N 12°32′E. The wreck survives.
