HMS Saumarez was a S-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number G12. The ship was named after James Saumarez. She was built by Hawthorn Leslie, Hebburn, Newcastle upon Tyne. She entered service on 1 July 1943, having been launched on 20 November 1942.

She was one of 111 ships of her class.

She displaced 1,730 long tons. She measured 110.6 m (363 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 36.8 knots, and she carried a complement of 225.

Her main battery was two 40 mm (1.6 in) guns.

She was in commission for 794 days of the Second World War.

She was broken up for scrap on 22 October 1946.
