HMS Sceptre was a S-class submarine in service with the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number P215. Her keel was laid at Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Greenock on 25 July 1940. Launched on 6 January 1943, she entered service on 15 April 1943.

Her class ran to 111 ships.

The boat displaced 842 long tons surfaced and 990 long tons submerged. She measured 66.1 m (217 ft) long with a beam of 7.0 m (23 ft). Her designed speed was 15 knots, and she carried a complement of 48.
