HMS Rotherham was a R-class destroyer of the Royal Navy. She carried the pennant number H09. The ship was named after Captain Edward Rotheram. Her keel was laid at John Brown & Company, Clydebank on 10 April 1941. She entered service in August 1942, having been launched on 21 March 1942.
Nine ships of the class were built.
She displaced 2,425 long tons. She measured 109.1 m (358 ft) long with a beam of 10.7 m (35 ft). Her designed speed was 36 knots, and she carried a complement of 237. Her main battery was of 120 mm (4.7 in) calibre.
She served with the Royal Navy as HMS Rotherham until 1945. She then passed to the Royal Indian Navy, serving as INS Rajput from 27 July 1949. She was in commission for 1,128 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in 1945.
She was broken up for scrap.
