HMS Waldegrave was a frigate of the Buckley-class destroyer escort in service with the United States Navy. She carried the pennant number K579. Her keel was laid at Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyard, Hingham, Massachusetts on 16 October 1943. She entered service on 25 January 1944, having been launched on 4 December 1943.
She was one of 98 ships of her class. The class followed the Evarts-class destroyer escort and was succeeded by the Cannon-class destroyer escort.
Displacement was 1,400 long tons. She measured 93.3 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 11.2 m (37 ft). Her designed speed was 24 knots, and she carried a complement of 186.
Her main battery was three 76 mm (3 in) guns.
She served with the United States Navy as unnamed (DE-570) until 21 January 1946. She then passed to the Royal Navy, serving as HMS Waldegrave (K579) from 25 January 1944. She was in commission for 586 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned in 1945. She was struck from the register on 21 January 1946.
