I-45 was a Type B2 submarine built for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Sasebo Naval Arsenal, Sasebo, Japan laid her keel on 15 July 1942. She entered service on 28 December 1943, having been launched on 6 March 1943.

The class followed the Junsen Type A and was succeeded by the Junsen Type C.

The boat displaced 2,624 long tons surfaced and 3,700 long tons submerged. She measured 108.7 m (356 ft) long with a beam of 9.3 m (31 ft). Her designed speed was 23.5 knots, and she carried a complement of 114.

Her main battery was one 140 mm (5.5 in) guns. She carried one aircraft.

She was in commission for 438 days of the Second World War. She was struck from the register on 10 March 1945.

She was sunk on 29 October 1944, at 10°18′N 127°37′E. The wreck survives.
