Ro-33 was a submarine of the Kaichū type submarine (K6 subclass), operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy. Kure Naval Arsenal, Kure, Japan laid her keel on 8 August 1933. She entered service on 7 October 1935, having been launched on 10 October 1934.

The boat displaced 940 long tons surfaced and 1,200 long tons submerged. She measured 73 m (240 ft) long with a beam of 6.7 m (22 ft). Her designed speed was 19 knots.

Her main battery was one 76 mm (3 in) guns. Her machinery developed 3,000 bhp.

She was in commission for 1,130 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 15 November 1939. She recommissioned on 1 May 1940. She was struck from the register on 5 October 1942.

She was sunk on 29 August 1942, at 14°27′S 106°11′E. The wreck survives.
