USS Laning was a Buckley-class destroyer escort of the United States Navy. The ship was named after Admiral Harris Laning. Norfolk Navy Yard, Portsmouth, Virginia laid her keel on 23 April 1943. She entered service on 1 August 1943, having been launched on 4 July 1943.
98 ships of the class were built. The class followed the Evarts-class destroyer escort and was succeeded by the Cannon-class destroyer escort.
Displacement was 1,673 long tons. She measured 93.3 m (306 ft) long with a beam of 11.0 m (36 ft). She carried a complement of 186. Her main battery was of 76 mm (3.0 in) calibre.
She was in commission for 763 days of the Second World War. She was decommissioned on 28 June 1946. She recommissioned on 6 April 1951. She was struck from the register on 1 March 1975.
She was broken up for scrap on 30 September 1975.
